Lantern Point

When diving Lantern Point dive site, the dive boat anchors on a rocky shelf 6 m deep, very close to the entrance to a chimney which drops down, leading to a tunnel in the limestone plateau and emerging at 16 m.

 

Lantern Point, situated at the southwestern tip of the enchanting island of Comino, stands as an underwater gem that lives up to its name, named after the local lighthouse. This dive site is a diver’s paradise, offering a captivating blend of unique features that make it one of the most sought-after locations in Comino. As divers submerge, they encounter a plateau at around 6 meters deep, setting the stage for an extraordinary underwater adventure. The dive unfolds with a steep drop-off and a distinctive L-shaped vertical tunnel. The chimney, commencing at 6 meters and leading to a depth of 16 meters, eventually opens up into a mesmerizing cave, adding an element of mystery to the exploration. Divers have the option to embark on the journey through the tunnel, ascending from the cave, or vice versa.

Beneath the reef, a breathtaking display of large boulders unveils itself, forming a spectacular underwater vista.
