Built in 1969, in UK and owned by General National Maritime Transport Company. Um El Faroud was used as a refined fuel transportation vessel until February 1995. The wreck was sunk as an artificial reef in 1998 close to Wied iz-Zurrieq.
Following a violent storm in November 2004, this oil tanker split in two and drifted about 5 m apart. The depth to the bridge is 15 m and to the deck is 25 m. The wreck is completely open for penetration.
