The best time of year for scuba diving in Malta is typically between May and October. Here’s a quick breakdown of what makes this period ideal:
🌞 May to October – Peak Diving Season
Warm Water: Water temperatures rise from around 18°C in May to about 26°C in August, making diving much more comfortable -especially for wetsuit divers.
Great Visibility: Malta is famous for its crystal-clear waters, with visibility often exceeding 30 meters during this time.
Calm Seas: The sea is generally calm, especially in summer, offering ideal conditions for boat and shore diving.
Full Access to Dive Sites: Most wrecks and caves are easily accessible due to favorable weather and sea conditions.
Marine Life: This is the best time to spot a variety of marine life like octopus, groupers, barracuda, and even seahorses.
