Xatt l-Ahmar dive starts from a wide 5 m-deep plateau. This rocky ledge extends underwater and drops down from 9 m to 35 m. Most of this wall is formed by large boulders and fields of neptune grass.
Xatt l-Ahmar, also known as Red Bay, stands as a renowned scuba diving location on the southeastern coast of Gozo. The dive sites within Xatt l-Ahmar encompass three distinct wrecks – MV Cominoland, MV Karwela, and MV Xlendi – along with a captivating wall reef featuring some caves and a shallow bay. Both the Karwela and Cominoland wrecks were intentionally scuttled in 2006, while the Xlendi wreck met a similar fate in 1999. Each of these wrecks offers a maximum depth of approximately 40 meters, providing divers with intriguing underwater exploration opportunities.
