Frequently Asked Questions
About Diving Courses in Gozo Malta

I have never Scuba dived before, can I still try it?

You can go diving with us any time you want! If you’re new, we have the PADI Discover Scuba Program. You’ll learn the basics in a quick lesson and then go to a safe spot in the sea with one of our experienced instructors. If you’re interested in getting your first scuba qualification, just ask us about the PADI Open Water course. It’s a simple way to start exploring the underwater world, and we’re here to help, whether you’re a beginner or looking to get certified.

Scuba diving is something many people can learn and enjoy fast. Being comfortable in the water makes it easier!

For those new to diving who have time restraints (2 days), the PADI Scuba Diver course could be a quick and easy introduction, covering essential diving skills. This course is in fact, the first part of the full PADI Open Water Diver qualification (3-4 days). Talk to us about where to begin your underwater adventure.

We love wreck diving! First thing to note is that wrecks are usually in deeper waters. This means that to go wreck diving you must have a minimum certification of Advanced diver to be able to dive to 30m deep to begin with.  After this, you can refine your skills with the PADI wreck diver specialty course as well as look at the Deep diver course and technical diving to visit wrecks that are 40m and deeper.

At Atlantis Gozo, we like to keep our groups small to provide a personal experience. It’s best to book ahead, allowing us to customize our daily dives to fit your preferences. Reach out using our contact form before your visit, and we’ll help plan the perfect schedule for you. If you’re learning to dive, you can complete eLearning beforehand, enabling you to dive into water training right away when you arrive!

In Malta and Gozo, we usually do shore diving, exploring lovely reefs, wrecks, and caves easily accessible from the shore. But for certain dives, like the deep wrecks about 40 meters down and trips to Comino, we need to use a boat. It adds an extra layer of adventure to our diving experiences!

Before any diving course, every diver must fill out and sign a self-assessment medical form by answering no to all the questions. If you have any of the issues mentioned on the form, it’s required to have a doctor confirm that you’re fit for scuba diving. Your safety is our priority!

Once you finish your diving courses and get your PADI certification, they do not expire. However, if you haven’t been diving for a bit, it’s a good idea to start with an easy dive or a refresher, based on your past experience. Just tell us if you’ve been out of the water for a while, and we’ll plan something suitable to help you regain confidence. Your safety and enjoyment are our top priorities!

Becoming a PADI Pro is an exciting adventure. Your goal should be to Become a PADI Divemaster and eventually a PADI dive instructor. Our Pro Dive Academy can help you do just this. Reach out and let’s talk about your road to becoming a professional diver!
